Friendship where??? Are we reading the same thing? It's Cesare that keeps pursuing Ariadne and she rejects him every time. She not going to go berserk mode on him and ruin her plans because of some scum like him keeps showing his unwanted ugly ah face around her.
Let’s put an air quote on that friendship word then, she’s “ friendly” with him even when he’s the one pursuing her. You know what a normal person wouldn’t do to the one who ruined his life? Being “ friendly “ with them. She even questioned herself about him in the present version and had us fooled that he had a chance. The fact she stayed “ nice” he could have easily asked her father for her hand like what happened in the past ( except he asked for the bitch sister s hand and was given Ariadne) and we know that cardinal would say yes and the plan is ruined. Say what you want, but her behaviour is very confusing concerning the ultimate revenge goal.
I get what u mean. Her reaction of Caesar at first seemed more right- her traumatised look whenever she encountered him.
BUT NOW why does she act as if they have no beef? They act so calm and When's my girl gonna get revenge on him???

I'm assuming you've never have someone you were greatly hated and traumatize by yet you can't anything to get rid of them in your life
Not saying this story has amazing revolutionary writing but I love the fact in Ariadne's inner self– through her past, she loved this man. You cant just immediately plot a revenge in someone you once love. Yes there's hatered, times where you feel so afraid but you can't do anything, for now. Shes still healing y'all. When he saved her at that chapt, she appreciates that he helped him while she also acknowledges all the horrible things he did, thats why they are not friends, she simply tolerates him.
That's how I took it and rather than blaming Ariadne for being confused it really just shows how manipulative Cesare is imo. I'm speaking as an abnormal traumatized adult. Appreciation ≠ forgiveness.
there’s a limit to how much she can do. caesar doesn’t know what he did in her past life, so her treating him awful would be kinda suspicious.
