Both. The first time they did it. Taehun wasn't ready to accept gwanyeong as his partner, especially having sex with a male esper. It was basically gwanyeong forcing him because he needed guiding. So taehun had a rebound. After that mihyeon told them to be on better terms so the rebound doesn't happen again. So mc said they should go to ml's house and try to get closer. While they were chatting, mc realised that ml had his guards up again him. While he accepted taehun as his guide, but that was all it was. He didn't trust him as a partner and mc felt it. So when their matching rate fell down even further, ml decided he just needed to make taehun enjoy the sex. Then everything will be fine. Sigh what a stupid thing to do. When the rebound was clearly mental. So taehun first had rebound because he couldn't accept gwanyeong, but when he did try to get closer to him, gwanyeong rejected him. Not trusting him, not saying what was on his mind, having his guard up...can be considered as a kind of rejection. And in that moment ml just tried to push mc for sex.
