Nop, he met MC a long time ago in a party when MC's was acting as the princess, he fell for here then but the second time ML met princess, it was actual princess with the classic princess personality, thinking she changed a whole lot ML though he lost MC forever, in actuality, they where too different people from the start.
As for why MC and princess look so alike, I don't really remember the spoiler, maybe I'm even mixing stories so I won't say.

The dad and og fl knew that she would have to go on an expedition, but the og fl was lazy, so they used black magic or sumn to send og fl into another person's body, the blond girl. Meanwhile, they summoned fl into og fl's bofy so that she could do all the hardwork.
