what kills me is that jiho memorized yujun’s phone number so he could’ve called him immediately after getting his new phone and get in contact w him but didn’t

I just hope jiho Chase bad after ML & ML gives him a little bit of that sour medicine he needs to learn his lesson.

Ngl I lowkey shipped jiho with that other guy when he first showed up because that tension was insane but god betraying yujun is still a major sin he deserves to go to hell for that idk

kinda weird to see some type of comments as if we are all unaware this is the author of hate mate, bc one thing about them it will be uncomfortably realistic, u expect the magical first time sex or some sht when sex can also be a form of self harm, he is driving himself to ruin. that. is. the. point.

chap 34 is heartbreaking that line about quenching thirst with seawater was good i rlly liked that metaphor for Jiho's reckless behavior whenever he missed Yoojoon.
Idc wat anyone says i like the pacing i dont want this to be too much of a slow burn this is keeping my interest and im glad in chap 34 we see Jiho calling Yoojoon and i will ignore the obvious questions i have cuz i like this too much

Bruh… 30 chapters of slow burn and teasing for what ? What was all the buildup for ? To rage bait us ? I feel like a fool. Not only we didn’t get to have our smaller top rep cause the dude grew up and became so damn tall (even though one of the reasons why I was so hooked at first was because I knew the top was supposed to be the small one), but we didn’t even get to actually see them fuck at all. Even when they were together and finally BOTH in love And the thing is, not only I accepted how tall the top became (even though I really preferred how he was in the first chapters) but I even accepted that they wouldn’t fuck at all (or at least not explicitly). But now, you’re telling me that we have a whole ass chapter with a very explicit sex scene of one of the MCs and some random weirdo guy who waited for him to be legal and drunk as fuck ?? . What’s the author’s problem ? I really feel like I was baited twice . It’s not even the fact that he slept with someone else tbh. Like, they haven’t seen each other for 2 years, and he’s self destructive, he had been making a lot of bad decisions since the beginning of the story cause he has a LOT of issues, so yeah, I’m not really surprised and I can somehow understand his behaviors, but why did it have to be explicit ? Why dedicating a whole chapter to this sexual scene ? Why couldn’t it have been implied instead?? It’s the fact that we had been invested in the 2 main characters relationship for 30 chapters, with a few chapters where the author teased us about them having sex without actually doing it, and now the FIRST sex scene is THAT ??? As a reader I feel betrayed. Like I was made fun of.

It’s like you guys are genuinely allergic to a complex character. There’s always huge negative reaction when an uke sleeps with someone else, and it’s completely unwarranted because this is a TIMESKIP and he’s SINGLE and Yujun isn’t even in the picture right now. It’s clear Jiho dealing with his emotions and he’s never had a healthy outlet. If he was dealing with his sexuality as a teenager, then obviously as an adult he’d want to experiment. It’s like everyone expects him to stay pure when he never has been that type of character? He’s even mentioned he’s done it with a girl once. Like come on, the people saying they’re dropping this is insane like we didn’t read 20 chapters of Jiho doing unhealthy things.

yaoi readers once again prove they have no reading comprehension and view jiho like he's an uwu mentally unstable character that does mentally unstable things but NOOOOOOOO they draw the line at sleeping with other people because he's mentally unstable. man fk purity culture

Icl, I know it's very unlikely but I kind of want ml to sleep around too, fair trade yk

Jiho is sich a complex character and the author wrote his character so well.
He's exactly how most kids raised in abused household, neglected for years, and constantly being in the centre of "bad attention" would be like.

He's self-destructive because that's all he ever known to cope with his problems.

The father failed him, the adults in around him failed him. Yujun (the ML) met him in the wrong time and place because what Jiho needs when they're in highschool is professional help (psychiatrist).

honestly, I don’t really get why people are reacting so strongly to this new chapter It was pretty clear from the beginning that both protagonists were messed up in different ways. jiho has so many issues and traumas, like he’s never been a stable person, so it was obvious that their cute, wholesome phase wouldn’t last forever. and yoojoon has his own issues too. just look at how quickly he got attached to jiho, how he accepted every bad treatment without question, and how completely hollow he became after jiho left. they were both clearly mentally unstable teenagers.

given how he grew up, it honestly makes total sense that jiho would turn out like this as an adult. sure, things are moving a bit fast now, but I feel like that’s intentional and the author seems to want to throw us right into the middle of things and show us glimpses of where they are now.

i also really don’t like what’s going on between the girl’s brother and jiho (the brother gives me major creep vibes), but for now, it’s definitely not being romanticized or glorified. i think the author is making it very clear that what jiho is doing - letting himself get drugged, hooking up with random people - is unhealthy and concerning. it feels like he’s going through a serious low, which, again, is totally in character. he lost the one good thing in his life years ago and now he’s just numbing himself.

so yeah, to me this direction makes a lot of sense for the manhwa, and I’m honestly really curious and intrigued to see where it goes next!

my eyes must be deceiving me. it must be my messed up sleep schedule that's messing with my brain.

Sorry he’s just a misanthropic man who would rather self destruct and sabotage because he knows as a person he doesn’t deserve good things and to be treated well because that’s how he’s been raised. He’d rather develop bad habits and get taken advantage of to prove he’s a terrible person and undeserving of love. I’m actually excited to see how he develops from here

but in his defense y'all he was probably trying to move on and thinks yoojoon probably has gotten over him too so... and it's pretty obvious that he's also unhappy and is actively looking to destroy his life so just take that into account before accusing him of bitchass-ism (remember he was faithful to yoojoon when they were together)

ngl im into this. it reminds me of a movie with messy plots and messy people and it makes it feel more realistic with how jiho is so used to just running away and how he doesn't even know the chaos he left yoojun in. im excited to see where this goes especially with the girl's older brother now in the mix.

i think, if you read the author's other work: Hate Mate, the you will kind of get a feel for the type of story that the author likes to tell and it's really interesting how realistic some aspects can be and how the author explores unlikeable characters
