He's exactly how most kids raised in abused household, neglected for years, and constantly being in the centre of "bad attention" would be like.
He's self-destructive because that's all he ever known to cope with his problems.
The father failed him, the adults in around him failed him. Yujun (the ML) met him in the wrong time and place because what Jiho needs when they're in highschool is professional help (psychiatrist).

given how he grew up, it honestly makes total sense that jiho would turn out like this as an adult. sure, things are moving a bit fast now, but I feel like that’s intentional and the author seems to want to throw us right into the middle of things and show us glimpses of where they are now.
i also really don’t like what’s going on between the girl’s brother and jiho (the brother gives me major creep vibes), but for now, it’s definitely not being romanticized or glorified. i think the author is making it very clear that what jiho is doing - letting himself get drugged, hooking up with random people - is unhealthy and concerning. it feels like he’s going through a serious low, which, again, is totally in character. he lost the one good thing in his life years ago and now he’s just numbing himself.
so yeah, to me this direction makes a lot of sense for the manhwa, and I’m honestly really curious and intrigued to see where it goes next!

i think, if you read the author's other work: Hate Mate, the you will kind of get a feel for the type of story that the author likes to tell and it's really interesting how realistic some aspects can be and how the author explores unlikeable characters
