I am guessing its something to do with Gowthers power. Meliodas will not know Kings new form so the assumption is that his previous form was used.
I am so happy for Ban and Elaine that Im withholding the urge to scream, but I wished he would have done this at the end of the battle. Now I'm worried since he isn't immortal he might get himself killed near the end of the battle.
