these are valid observations. feel free to rebut them. if the author is trying to portray a multiracial cast of characters, then they should do a better job at illustrating poc features.

asian people are beautiful and can look beautiful without having to adopt eurocentric features

as an asian this is the craziest goddamn take i've ever seen somebody make about an asian character. what about him is eurocentric to you. is it the full black hair? is it the strong nose? is it the lack of double eyelids? is it that he's tall and broad? are those eurocentric features to you? what the fuck should an asian artist who's depicting her own people change about him just to make him look more like how he's 'supposed to look'?

1. As an Asian person, I want to see my people be represented properly, and that means someone who doesn't have eurocentric features and still be goodlooking
2. I've already listed all the features that I believed are Eurocentric, so I don't know what else you expect me to say

So basically, you invented this narrative about what I might be thinking and get offended all by yourself. So this can only be a reflection of your own perspective and who you are as a person

literally just look at any pretty asian actor/idol and you'll get dainty eyebrows. his nose being pointy is simply a figment of your imagination bc babes i can see that nose bridge from miles away. and the eyes are just sooooo fucking stupid. so what if they're lighter? maybe you're right about him being wasian, and so what? they're drawn so tiny anyway that i barely even realized that they're of a lighter color, and everybody can tell right away that he's just a fine asian man. I've been around enough full blooded asians to know that plenty of narrow-browed, pointy-nosed, lighter-eyed asians exist, and you expecting the author to draw according to some dumbass list of features that are apparently "too eurocentric" is just dumb.

So again, it has nothing to do with my perspective, and it has everything to do with what you PERCEIVED my argument to be about. And since it's a preconceived notion, it is a projection on your part that made you lash out due to a butthurt you created yourself

what I AM SAYING is that when you look at the picture of Daniel, his features are drawn in a way that aligns with eurocentric beauty standards. be has narrow brows, pointier nose bridge, lighter eye colour. Individually speaking, each of these features aren't indicative of any certain race. But TOGETHER, they don't look like an Asian person. again, NOT SAYING that some Asians (specificall East Asians) don't have those traits. what I AM SAYING is that the artistic choice leans toward features that are more widely accepted as “attractive” through a eurocentric lens.

representation is about what gets prioritized and normalized in the media. you even proved my point: you listed K-pop idols and actors, who are LITERALLY part of an industry heavily influenced by eurocentric beauty standard.

if you don’t see that, that's your prerogative. but dismissing my points as “dumb” and throwing out insults instead of actually engaging with them is weak. i’m not here to say Asians can’t look like Daniel, but we deserve better representation that doesn't default to eurocentric aesthetics to be seen as "attractive"

and again, from the very beginning, you were extremely hostile and defensive because of some internal wound that you aren't dealing with. So i'd recommend you deal with that and heal
