I don't know why people said that the anime was traumatizing but I think it's because they've not actually been into the yaoi world. After reading the manga I have to say that anime was better.

Jeff's whole family actually. Jeff apparently has a long history of torturing and mutilating Hook. Jeff's father wants Jeff to make Hook compete in illegal werewolf fighting games organised by wealthy clients so as to make friendships and find donors to help his political career. Their butler is another wierdo. Also Jeff didn't really care about Hana (only got close to Hana because he thought Hana must be from a very influential family to have 2 werewolves which even his family doesn't have) but once Hana rejects him, he gets obsessed with her. Wacko alert!!

I really liked the story and art was beautiful but I dodn't understand why the mangaka bothered to make Kairi a boy. This stuff could've easily passed for a Shoujo.
