Yes, if done incorrectly you can put pressure in the front and damage the throat while cutting the airflow. However ideally chocking is meant to slow down blood flow while not messing with the airflow. Which is even more dangerous, bc no you wont have severy tissue damage like when done incorrectly but if not enough blood flow gets to your brain it can end with brain damage

Tbh i know chocking became very common and authors use it at every given chance but I wish when they talk abt "breath play" they actually went for covering nose and mouth and not this. Even if you put warnings and explain people why they shouldn't do it, they'll try bc they see how someone did it "right" so surely they can pull it off
