i just finished it. gurl u need to read it too this is the first manhwa that made me bawl my eyes out like catching my breath kind of cry, that intense. first chapters were shit except minwook but it eventually gets good by the end. all in all, 9/10

this is just my theory, idk if some of u guys already thought about this. i think the “disease” that killed rita’s family was actually from one of ignat’s scales that got stuck from a tree trunk (based from his flashback story) and maybe that’s the reason why rita can endure the pain of consuming the scale because he already survived it when he was a kid and now his marks are spreading because rita already got the essence from the start. maybe that’s also the reason why ignat smelled something in rita when they first met
