freak for freak yes. before reading this, i already mentally prepared myself to not expect anything morally upright here and i was right, they’re both just as bad. there’s no black and white here, only gray. but in chapter 8, i was confused on the first part where yuta saw the book he was reading in seunghyun’s place and i thought maybe yuta once saw seunghyun as his savior?? maybe he felt betrayed when seunghyun didn ’t come for yuta? and maybe that’s the reason why yuta has been watching seunghyun for 10yrs to see what he has been up to after he left him and that maybe the reason why he hates his guts?? these are all just thoughts i don’t even think i’m close to the right answers. we’re literally just in the starting line but the plot is already plotting. i like it. i will continue on mentally preparing myself until the next chapters because I KNOW there will be more shit to come to test our moral compass lmao

so some of u put off reading this masterpiece and regretted doing so but u don’t know when i first read this it had like,,, low ratings and ranked last, i didn’t even understand why likeeee. that was in 2022 i think, so that was 3 yrs ago and i’m beyond grateful that it got the recognition it deserves now
this is just my theory, idk if some of u guys already thought about this. i think the “disease” that killed rita’s family was actually from one of ignat’s scales that got stuck from a tree trunk (based from his flashback story) and maybe that’s the reason why rita can endure the pain of consuming the scale because he already survived it when he was a kid and now his marks are spreading because rita already got the essence from the start. maybe that’s also the reason why ignat smelled something in rita when they first met
