As much as I have read up to 100 chapters, he did hate MC in first life. And he did date the girl. MC is really a villain in his first life. Only bec of their matching rate, ML is trying to control his hatred.
I'm gonna re-read it in honor of the remake (pls make it happen, god I'm so afraid of the author changing their mind...) A remake is a perfect decision it would attract so many new fans, I believe it will be a huge success if done correctly
