The work times are more or less realistic. Then you don’t get paid for overtime in Japan but are still expected to finish your work.
It's crazy right?! My friend worked in Japan for a few years (and her boyfriend's Japanese). She said they'd usually work until 9pm and go drinking with their colleagues until 2-3am, but then they're still expected to show up at work at 7 or 8 in the morning!!!
