This comic started out with so much potential. SO much!!! However all of the conflicts ended up boiling down to “omg I hope we don’t get exposed!” Despite being adults in a consenting relationship (and seemingly trying their hardest to do BDSM in the most public places, not once was anything ever done in private for some reason?) and then a resolution consisting of them, shockingly, not being outed. This only gets more tedious as each conflict that passes becomes more and more rushed. On top of all that, to my horror, the main characters never had sex. Not even once. I can into this expecting even a fade to black moment; but these motherfuckers didn’t even KISS. You’re left with all of this awful tension from conflicts and two young adults exploring their sexualities with absolutely no resolution. It fucking sucks. Also the male lead likes to use his trauma every single opportunity he gets to invalidate everyone else’s existence which was also so unbearable. I also found it odd how he was truly the only one characterized, like not once did we see even a chapter of backstory for the female lead. In short, this story is DEEPLY unsatisfying and your better off picking up another story to pass the time.

Totally agree!! It’s ironic because both of them spent countless hours in sex shops, reading books, and on online forums and not once was a safe word discussed. I think it’s because a safe word might’ve solved every single conflict the story presented though so that would explain it’s absence hahahaha

I have such high hopes for this series— the pacing, the emotional depth of the characters, the fact that we’re allowed to like the women in the story (which is so so unbelievably rare, but we stan cute lil jihye), I’m so astounded. Yet another yaoi where the plot is nearly entirely lost to mindless and meaningless sex. Don’t get me wrong, smut scenes are great, but it’s in Yaoi like this where there was such a promising plot line with unresolved holes, where constant smut without any plot and rythme in between is just obnoxious. The pacing of the manhua was so good at first, and now I’m forgetting what the characters actual personalities are because we seldom see them outside the bedroom. It’s just sad because I feel like the manhua had a lot of potential, and the sex scenes are so hot! It just feels like the smut is ruined for me when there’s no break from it, it becomes bland and repetitive. :((

I’m always grateful for a translation, but the dudebro speak that starts in chapter 19 is just distasteful. I understand every now and again cracking a joke, or specific characters speaking in a specific dialect, but every character in every moment in time makes it borderline annoying— and I talk like that it sucks all the seriousness out of big moments too- like the holy maiden saying “I miss my crib” during a heartbreaking scene, or the confession (? I couldn’t tell because it was so hard to understand) feeling like they needed to chestbump afterwards.
