Just as I posted this, I realized how this is actually happening in real life. We bound ourselves to each other, "til death do us part", whether we really did love each other or because of other reasons (arranged marriage, shotgun weddings, etc.) , but the point is that we bounded ourselves with another for a lifetime. And then we meet that one person who changes our universe, who shows us another face of love, who makes us feel emotions we never felt before. Although you're happy with your marriage, it just tears you because you have to make a choice, a choice that would surely make you happy but have a part of your heart torn all at the same time.
And the guilt from hurting the ones you love and the regret and all the what ifs are enough to crush one's heart.
Just... it's just so heartbreaking thinking about it.
