The band had an ultra fan. The ultra fan seduced her way into the lives of each band member.
The band members then got angry at each other for getting it on with the same girl, since they thought they seduced the girl from one another.
The girl cursed the group, causing their discord.
When she died, she remained an ultra fan, cursing them with deformed looks and physical agony if they continued to play music, reflecting their ugliness and deformity the girl brought out of them.

A priest told the band that if they continued as a band and got the crowd to rever them, their reverence could serve as a prayer and lift the curse. The more excited the crowd got, the more compelled they were to play music. However, the more they played music, the more agony they were in given their deformities. When the concert was over, the curse was just about lifted. However, when the girl's spirit in the crowd yelled "ENCORE", the band was forced to continue playing in writhing agony as their bodies eventually fell apart.
