Turns out Suha is rejecting Director Park because he doesn't believe in his feelings--understandably so, given his past. I was worried it was bc he didn't like Park at all. All Director Park has to do now is prove himself in the right way. I'm cheering you on!

I wish the author hadn't made the redhead so fucking ugly. I can't even take this story seriously in the 'past toxic relationships' aspect. Every time Suha mentions that Do Hyeok was 'good looking' (in his youth, when he's having flash backs of his past self) I'm like bitch no really? He's a fucking TOAD, and his personality doesn't help. Like if only the redhead was a toxic handsome guy (and everybody would thirst over him lol even if he was a rapist and a douche) I'd understand how young Suha got so drawn into Do Hyeok's dark world. I mean he was also young and naive... BUT STILL THE REDHEAD IS A GODDAMN TOAD I JUST-- sighs.

1. i have completely stopped caring for any of the main characters--other than Mary on the side. Idk. The author's just lost what 'heart' i had. Every time a serious--or potentially deep plot point that can be further fleshed out and delved into... it's kinda just brushed aside. Like there was literally only one brief mention of Hyungdo's forced prostitution/torture. And then bada bing bada boom onto the next order of business.

There's no fleshing out and no further foray into the potential that was there. Like imagine how deep the story could've been if all that hadn't been brushed past? At the same time, I also don't understand Hyungdo's personality. Like at one point he seems like a cheeky intelligent kinda guy, but the next moment his intelligene takes a dive. He's no Hail Virgin Mary, so it should've at least occurred to him--given all that the author has shown about him before--to manipulate the young master weirdo.

Instead of just bursting up in anger every time--it would've been more conducive and logical for him to use his anger and channel it into efficiency, i.e. coaxing the young master. I mean every time he got angry--he ended up being raped and beat up, etc. etc. And given that he was in 'captivity' for 1-2 years... having that happen so often to him should've AT LEAST changed his attitude. Just one or two flowery words and he probably would've been treated marginally better. If he was so desperate to survive, why did he keep throwing himself down a pit by pissing off the young master?? I literally don't understand. I mean I'd get it if he were some innocent mary sue--but he AIN'T. He grew up in the dregs of society shooting porn for a living-- he should've had more common sense and street smarts than that.

ALSO the author has COMPLETELY brushed past Hyungdo's 'trauma'--pretty much negating it--which again makes moot sense. I mean he underwent 1-2 years of physical abuse, drugged every day as he was fucked for days on end. Yet any foray into that end just ends up as a 'dead end'. Nothing. Like none of that happened and now we're happy happy. I don't think the author realizes that this work isn't like her other work (with a gigolo blondie and a semi-yakuza 'slut')... she's dealing with much darker themes here, yet she doesn't even bother giving them their due. *sighs* this setting is completely wasted. She's treating this work like her other work but--I'm just gonna end my rant here gn.

that servant guy in the final panel's not right in the head. All he told you to do was bring the paint brushes, and you burst out with a 'fucking bastard'. Is 'favoritism' that big of a deal? It's not like it's hurting /you/ in any way... then again there are a plethora of people like this in modern times too lol.

SHIN BE MANIPULATING THE BOY LIKE HE'S PLAY-DOHHHHHH. Sorta feel sorry for him bc he seems like a puppy, but then again he's also done many bad things. I love seeing the manipulative-to-others-to-suit-his-needs Shin. It adds a much needed depth. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Anyways, that aside, uh... damn didn't realize Wolfgang was such a iffy ruler. Like not being all that well-versed in the 'ruling' part of being a king, is already something I was well aware of for Wolfgang... but damn... constantly gifting gold and jewels (though Shin returned all of it) from your treasury, to a 'lover'???? I mean we already knew that was Wolfgang's thing. Objectively speaking, (and I mean OBJECTIVELY--i.e. from a bystander's/ordinary citizen's point of view) that's pretty much a king that thinks with his dick. Like that's peak 'degenerate ruler' behaviour. There's no need to waste your money like that... that gold should be used for the country's future... not for pleasing some 'lover'.

If this were real life, REGARDLESS OF THE INSIDE STORY (So don't attack me, I'm merely speaking REALISTICALLY, not of their relationship itself), once such rumors (with well-deserved 'evidence') got out into the general public... when the country eventually goes into a rut, they're going to recall all the king's flippant luxurious spending and unease will grow. Would your trust a ruler who not only is inept at ruling a country (charisma/bravery/ kindness/etc. aside--we all know Wolfgang's sorta muddled at the concrete stuff) but also constantly gifts his 'lover' heaps of gold and jewels, straight from the country's treasury, money that should be used for the country and not just for personal pleasure? Maybe not 5 or 10 years, but 20 years of ruling or so... opinions would likely begin to fester. Empires don't last forever... and when they go into decline, they need the citizens' trust to make it through.

as dramatic as that all was... it's also illogical. Wolfgang, is, ngl, a sort of shit king. He's got an honest character, bravery, courage and charisma... BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE THE BRAIN. BITCH IF YOU, WHO IS LITERALLY 100% BRAIN, IS GONE... WOLFGANG IS GONNA RUN THE COUNTRY INTO HELL. Wolfgang may be kind, but a kind monarch is not enough. I mean sure, it was kind and selfless of him to give the assassin kid his hair to save him, but in reality--and if this weren't a webtoon--it was a terrible idea. One day he'd probably give away everything until there was nothing left. It is an intrinsically selfless act, but imagine the image it portrays to the people. "Oh! Look! The king will even save someone who tried to kill him!" If this was nonfiction, the people would realistically start questioning whether their country will be safe in Wolfgang's hands. You need to be able to make cruel choices for the greater good, sometimes, also also curb your impulses to see the bigger picture. Wolfgang has neither of those. No offence golden boy... you're hot... but a hot mess. Empires aren't built on endless kindness. Endless kindness is basically telling your enemies, 'hey look it's an open door!' Even the greatest kings have done cruel things.

the author did a great job forming Wolfgang's character but a horrible job at making him a ruler. But then again that's what Shin is for. Wolfgang is the shining, golden mascot, and Shin is the brains behind the throne.
