But they both met at counseling as kids meaning they were both mentally disturbed (in two different ways) as kids - so-i was more timid, sure, and although it could have been resolved easily if she did speak up, having the amount of anxiety that she already had (overwhelmed due to stimuli and all) I doubt she'd be able to speak up even if she wanted to. Plus, I do think she was a bit slow on the uptake initially - once she found out this girl was trouble, she did her best to stay away since that's what she's used to (aka, "blocking out" what bothers her).
