So, Cesare will kiss Ruby. Yes. I know.
And worse... Ellen, Ivan and Freya will see it.
Ruby will get really really depressed over this.
No one tells Iz for a while, but Freya will try it (obviously). She sets a trap for them and send Iz to the place the siblings are talking alone.
But when Iz gets there, Ruby is bleeding, being beaten by Cesare (he gets mad because Ruby says that she hates him).
Sonofabich almost dies in Izeks hands, but escapes. And basically this is the end of the misunderstanding arc.

Omg this makes me really sad. It’s going to be really hard to get through. Every time Ruby felt anxious and hurt, it hurt me to see her like that.
I think so. There is more that happens that I didn't include in my spoilers (basically the tournament and some drama), so depending how ithe adaptation goes I estimate 3 to 5 chapters until they discover the truth.

My memory is kinda spotty but I'll try my best. Sit back because this is gonna be long.
-Creepy cesare kisses her in the greenhouse and everyone sees it (Ellenia, Freya, Ivan and i think freyas brother too)
-Turns out cesare wanted the group to see. -Ruby is shocked and disgusted but she notices that everyone saw her getting kissed and it kinda breaks her.
-Ellenia jumps into damage control mode and forbids the group from speaking about it.
-freya is ecstatic because her deluded ass believes this is proof that ruby is a slut who messes around with her brother and Iz will finally open his eyes and leave ruby for freya.
-That night, Ruby is so disturbed and consumed by guilt and shame, she sleepwalks(?) in self destructive mode, babbling,but Ellenia catches her before she gets hurt and takes her back to her room.
-Ellenia was pissed at ruby until then but starts suspecting ruby might be a victim.
-Next day, Ruby acts like she's okay. Iz wins the tournament and climbs up the arena to where ruby is sat WITH THE CREEP, and gifts his golden bouquet to her and she is overjoyed.
-freya is mad because she wanted it
-cesare is mad too because his deluded psycho ass believes ruby is his woman, so he whisks her away to punish her before Iz comes back to join her.
-Cesare takes her to a room filled with mirrors.
-Ruby, who is so DONE by this point and absolutely furious and fearless-- (because she's finally realized cesare desires her as a woman and she's beyond disgusted by that she starts seeing him as a pathetic man that no longer terrifies her) --made sure Freya and her lil bro sees her leave with cesare ;)
-Ruby knew freya would absolutely find Iz and ellenia, to tattle to them that ruby has left the venue with Cesare.
Ruby knew freya would jump at this chance to "expose" ruby's "affair" with cesare.
Freya WANTED Iz to catch Ruby and Cesare.
-Freya did exactly as ruby predicted. Izak came back and demanded to know where ruby was, Freya pretended like she was troubled and hesitant to tell him Ruby's whereabouts...and then she spilled the deets.
-meanwhile, Cesare is losing his mind and Ruby provokes him to attack her. (She clutches the bouquet so hard which also adds to Cesare's anger) She goes on and on about how amazing Izak is and how happy he makes her feel while Cesare makes her want to die. He snaps and beats her up so bad.
-the scene is bloody and lots of shattered mirrors. ruby is covered in blood and glass pieces embedded in her head and arms and shes on the floor with cesare on top of her choking her when Izak and group (a bunch of knights too) burst through the door and freezes at the sight. Ruby turns to look at them and then,
-pandemonium.
-Izak uses his powers and lunges at Cesare who barely counters Izaks sword and divine powers.
-Ellenia rushes to pull ruby off the floor and away to safety.
-Cesare is forced to escape because he knew Izak would hack him to death otherwise.
-but Cesare had already set a plan in motion to destroy this land. Monsters (including ruby's lil dragon) start attacking and after much destruction, Ruby brings the situation under control by running towards the baby dragon who only calms down after seeing her.
Things are peaceful for a while. Freya does a total 180 and apologizes to ruby.
But ceaser is alive and well, so shit hits the fan again.
And that's a story for another time :D

She actually does a 180. She feels horrible about how she treated ruby. She then falls in love with Ruby's younger playboy brother but he's murdered in a godawful plot by cesare and the pagan queen (for a ritual to teleport ruby to Cesare's side) and freya joins the convent...

At least in the novel you kinda pity her in the end. She is not that kind of minor bitch villainess that never understands what she did wrong.
Of course she still doesn't like Ruby too much until the end (Or we like her), but when she sees her in the ground all bloody, she feels really guilty. Freya never considered Ruby side, she just convinced herself of her truth and did everything for it. When she noticed that she was all wrong, the girl was humbled.
And when she finally starts to give up Iz and fall for Enzo, he dies in her hands, blood flowing from every orifice, murdered by who??? That's right, Cesare (And a traitor... Just will live it like that).
In the end she is so depressed and traumatized that she asked her uncle to let her join the convent.
Kinda saddens me that enzo will die right after freya fell in love with him :(
It says "to be continued", so I think it'll have side stories?
