Crown prince thinks he can get Ines again. He thinks that Ines is his wife and she will never love Carcel. He’s trying to do things differently in this timeline by changing his behavior. That’s why he lives quietly. He thinks he’s tolerant to allow Ines to marry Carcel but like he will tell Ines in the last part of the story, his patience is now up and he wants her. All this time he was focused on monitoring the painter guy because he had no fear about Ines and Carcel falling in love. That’s why as soon as the rumors Carcel asked Raul to spread reached the ears of the crown prince in Mendoza, he sent assassins after Carcel to kill him.
