I've seen this in other chinese manhua too, a lot of the manhua cram in a heck load of the plot in just a chapter, so much so that it looks like we're reading a recap version. Why is that? How come a lot of chinese manhua are like this? Is there a reason why they're like that?

It's just the introduction to the real story, a lot of Chinese novels start out like this. What would take others a while, those authors are just like: 'Ah yes they reincarnated, everyone knows this trope by now so I won't explain it anymore, let's start the real story from here' and after that the pacing is way more normal.

Does someone know if it's a HE or a BE? I'm sick of tragic endings by now. I would be totes grateful if someone tells me this.(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

based on stuff from chapter 8, no longer sure, as it's explicitly mentioned that yeonjin's body wasn't found. unlike choi moonhyuk's first owner/"lover", whose body was "found" aka he died publicly during a fight apparently (see pages 1-3 in chapter 8). maybe he just "disappeared"/ is hidden due to his father or something
I hate harems but this is written so well.
