I like it more that shoujo and i'm not sure why, like i know real gay couples aren't like this and it could easily be replaced with a girl but I still like the feminine uke (as well as the many other more dominant types). I get why people some people don't like it though. It's like a guilty pleasure ig? Or like maybe cause it makes the seme feel more dominant and protective? Like with a girl but gay? because the target audience is still female just like with shoujo, the whole point is to appeal to fantasy NOT reality.
If we wanted to read realistic depictions of the male form we would read like bara or something targeted at dudes.
