Why is it so hard for them to like her and love her as a person, as the sweet child she is? Rather the author's view of affection seem creepy. They all basically became infatuated with Lippe because she's pretty and acts mature, SHE'S STILL 5.
Chill, it's all just a little crush at this point for the kiddies. Children at that age don't know the difference yet...I hope. Except Rias, I suspect; he's like Lippe-- with an adult mind. Many hints that his future conscience came back in time like Lippe from their brief interactions... Well... Julian might form a bit of an over-attachment to his savior.
You never had childhood crush? I was crushing on everyone when I was a 5-10 (which is super ironic since adult me has no intention for romance) and back then I always have the dream of marrying my crush. Playing house with them might contribute to that too.
Maybe we shouldn't over-romanticising children as we did to adult characters. These children character don't show inclination to do mature stuff to Lippe so I personally do not feel it is necessary to denounce their ability to hold affection and love to one another. They have heart and feelings too, just like adults. The difference is that their affection to Lippe is pure and innocent. They blush around their crush/when crush do something cute doesn't mean they want to fuck their crush like how adults would be towards their crush. It's innocent child-like love, moreover with the fact that Lippe is a saviour/idol to some of them. As long as they just stick to wanting to marry her (which in child's mind is probably just limited to be able to see Lippe everyday 24/7 without the need for a tea party or playdate), and does not cross the line of actually thinking of doing mature stuff to her, it is still a pure innocent love in my book. Children is capable of love. They're human too.
As for Lippe who is mature woman mentally, she literally brotherzoned everyone except for Castillo (who was hinted to have his future adult conscience with him). She treated them like children from the pov of an adult woman and does not view them outside that parameter. That is why she didn't even notice Hildert's feelings to her because sje is stuck in this adult mindspace while Hildert is a child in her eyes. Look at the differences between her interaction with the children and her interaction with Castillo. While she treats everyone like a child, she treats Castillo as an equal.
Huh, writing this down made me realise why Castillo and Lippe haven't had lots of interaction as young kids because if it is between them, I had to step back and draw the line. Both of them did seem adult-like in their interaction with one another, especially when it comes to his behaviour to her. You can't tell me that the way he treats her isn't like how teenagers/young adult treats their crush. That is very disturbing to see when they're in children's body.
Anyhow, I personally see nothing wrong with the boys' (sans Castillo) interaction with Lippe as their interaction are still pure and appropriate to their age range. What bothered me is how many readers are viewing those interactions as something inappropriate that only mature adults should do. Bruh. Childhood crush exists. Give the children chance to learn to love and be rejected. It will help them grow as they mature.
Sorry for the long rant.
