i honestly think it's a matter of pride (atm) but also the seme was tricked by him once. if he suddenly becomes compliant, the seme could play along but might increase security & will be cautious even more than ever. the uke is playing the long game (unconsciously), but i think he'll eventually feign weakness & surrender (might not even feign but be on his breaking point). that's when he'll strike after deceiving him & make a run for it. i'm guessing this is gonna be a long, laborious strategy that he might haven't considered yet.

My guess is they didn't expect this to get popular. Author made a quick and dirty poly story and was ready to call it and I'm guessing it became a bigger deal than they expected which means either the app they published it in licensed the story for a larger run, or the author themselves de,used to expand it due to reader's demand.
