Im trying to give this one the benefit of the doubt, but idk. If I could put it into words, the chemistry is not chemistry-ing. Idk if thats supposed to be intentional with how ml is literally “manipulating” his way. I saw another comment wondering how altered their chemistry is. The mc also asked himself if the love is genuine. The flow, the pacing, the chemistry feels so… 2d. And It feels like theres extra chapters or panels that have been cut off because of how out of context this feels. Mc’s feelings for the ml also feels so weird because it feels like it came out of nowhere.
Ive read my fair share of both sides of fluff and toxic. And especially in the latter, I always find people saying they don’t get why the mc fell in love. But even in those stories, I can still find a reason why mc fell in love. Whether it’d be some sort of event or something connected with the past. But for this one, since we quite literally dont know the full picture of both characters, everything feels so flat.
Its like a puzzle that came incomplete and were only given the next piece every month but we dont know where to put it cuz we also dont have a reference picture(and that we cant have an image in the mind cuz it’s incomplete).
Im still gonna continue reading this but this is my thoughts so far. This type of rambling would make more sense if the chapters were already in the 90’s and theres still no progress on our understanding of the background story. But considering the pacing and how far theyve already gone, my rambling is still justifiable. Theres so many happenings that dont make any sense. But like I said, im gonna give the benefit of the doubt and simply say this is a reflection of what mc feels cuz its his pov, and ml is trying to hide things from mc. This feels realistic. I think people have forgotten that when it comes to long distance relationships, there really is a lot of doubt if the other is being faithful. One slight hint that they arent and they start to overthink. And another thing, these two have always been like this. This is their personality. It just wasnt shown at the start because, well, there wasn’t anything that allowed it to show up. Yoon chae is also very sleep deprived. So him not able to control his emotions and think clearly is also realistic.
The people in the comment section think that once you see 1 red flag the relationship is over. No. Being in a relationship is learning to love their imperfections and flaws. My brother and his bf always fight like this. They punch each other and shout at each other. Not to say that they are abusive towards each other. They just really are not compatible when it comes to disagreements and my brother takes after my father who can’t control his emotions. But in the end they still both love each other very much and the relationship is strong. R*pe cant be justified so I wont talk about that, but at least il hoon managed to get himself out of that situation and lets be grateful.
