I dont know what to say about this one. The mood was very somber, way different from the ubeat nature of Kabi. Both characters have traumas that dont get resolved in a satisfying way, and the pacing is horrendous. I seriously like the idea of this story and this relationship, but it needed more time to simmer. At the end of the day, both characters feel extremely unstable and too emotionally dependent on each other. They say they've grown from their pasts but Im just not seeing it.
Also, Ikeda suddenly spotting Sasaki felt out of place, his obsession with maturity is confusing as well. Rio doesnt even feel like Rio anymore tbfh. It was a depressing story that never really picked up. One thing I did like was how "simple" their traumas were, like Im so used to physical abuse, violence, rape (Penetration, not assault like Rio's revolting brother did (Dont get me wrong, what he did was still fucking AWFUL)) death, etc-- the shit you see in all media these days- and how much it impacted them and their sense of relationships, because that's usually how it is irl. Just one moment, one touch, one second of social ostracization or embrassment or bullying can fuck. you. up.
If I ever meet a manipulator irl it's so fucking over. Also there is NO chance that Guwon is a perfect green flag, even if he means no harm. Bro is hiding something and loves his authority over others. Im gonna die on this hill, wishing I could die in his arms smfh
Guwon is so babyboy coded Im going to scream. His design is straight from the fucking pyre too its dope as fuck. I thought his arms were magical at first but considering everyone else's reaction to them, they're probably just blackout tattoos. I love how under all this devlopment and cuteness between teach and Guwon, there's also some plot/something interesting happening:
-The weird attitude of the residents
-The sudden global catastrophe
-Teach's protective traumatic response
-Guwon's origin

I remember when that green fuck mentioned Seth's powerlessness in the first half of S1! How he took Seth and gave him the reigns of war, and gave him the status of a mighty god. I didnt expect Seth to remember his pre-war self, and I wonder if he remembers how Osiris elevated him Ive been cultivating little details like that as if they were droplets of gold, its nice to see those aspects finally put in the spotlight
Also Horus and Seth having a heart to heart after sex is so fucking refreshing to see. Not only for them, but within the grand scope of BL as a whole. Usually post-sex scenes are brutal, being skipped over entirely or the top leaves the uke in their own sweat. Whenever its sweet, its shallow: contributing nothing substantial or being too short for remembrance. This isnt overly sweet nor is it too cold; its realistic, satisfying, and mellow, like the slow winding down of nerves after hours of excitement. Good shit. I also really like the dynamic between Horus and Seth: Horus is a fucking hornball whilst Seth isnt. Its good to see Horus respecting that too... another nice contrast to the many couples in BL that fuck 70 Hours per week like they were hired by Jeff fucking Bezos.
We're this early into the story and a major reveal has already taken place, cant wait for the rest of this story
