It don’t have a novel and the anime is way behind the manga. The movie two heroes is like an extra story that don’t influence the main story but is really interesting and you can watch anytime you want, since it don’t have any spoiler.
I'd say you can start with the anime if you haven't seen it yet. It's currently at the Yakuza/Overhaul arc and it's amazing to see so many good boys and girs animated and voiced, not to mention that the fight scenes look great!
The first movie you can watch anytime if you're caught up with the manga, it's just a filler story (though a really nice one), the second movie should air this winter season, I think.
The SMASH spin-off is just a light-hearted parody that has nothing to do with the real storyline.
I haven't read the Vigilantes spin-off yet, but from what I gathered it's just that: an extra story.
As for the novels, I've read the first one and most of the second one and they're fillers about the kids' school life + a little bit of action, so you won't get spoiled from those either.
