I had a feeling they weren't adventurers. They weren't being very subtle about it, but damn are the villagers way too naive. I guess this is what happens when you live in peace for too long.

God damn it. They speed running through this arc as well. The novel has more details of what happened during those first half a dozen or so timeline. Can't remember how many time loops she went through but she went through A LOT that she lost count on how many times she desperately tried to save Ed that it became her main and ONLY goal through these time loops.
This was my favorite arc too, second being Ed's Assassination arc.
