What? He may have changed the timeline, but he also gave his younger self his memories.... That timeline may not exist anymore (or whatever the hell happened to it, because the older version had the time to die there, so maybe just parallel timelines that exist next to each other?) , but the memories remain, so he can change things to avoid the bad end.
i'm not gonna argue with timelines and time travel

Isn't it called World building? I mean not only focus on the students but Horikoshi trying to focus on everything around them. Like heroes association and villain league are a really important aspect of the story for it would shape every hero students and maybe vigilante on what they'd be in the future.
