I think that in Asian countries especially, (and as an Asian myself) people tend to associate parents with their children a lot. If a parent has a bad reputation, then the child will as well, even if they’re innocent, regardless of their individual image. Though of course not all Asian people are like this, it’s mostly from my own personal experience. Say if some parent is a criminal, others tend to tell they’re children to stay away from the criminal’s children as well, and I guess that mindset passes on. And yea, it is definitely toxic.
I can relate to that as well (as an Asian too). But thank god, I have yet to witness or experience that. And I surely will not want that to happen to me and my loved ones.
