But you could also look at it that the ML is also doing his job diligently. He had to have children and be married for his job. He's sacrificing his true love because it's what his job demands of him. And Pauliana seems to really enjoy her time with the wives so I don't see it as a lose for her.

I like that is is not just fantasy but has the characters deal with real life issue and considerations that are usually glossed over in fantasy and make it very realistic/real world kind of considerations. I mean I still want ML and FL to end up together, but it would have been a bit hollow if he'd just proposed and married her right after getting home/settled. I feel the satisfaction at the end of this story will be much greater and long lasting than in other romance mangas/manwhas

I don’t know but because of ML duties he also have disturbing character you know from novel befor FL became part of Lucius army, Lucius order other people to rape MC because there are myth if you kill virgin woman they will be a ghost and hunt man who kill her.. after that part I really hate Lucius as ML welll this manhwa tone down Novel situation to make the ML acceptable to public.. and also he playboy ok at novel he sleep with ton of woman even he have child with other concubine.. and ending 3 wives from each region either Died because of childbirth, get killed because she betray emperor and one wives got divorced after know Lucius just didn’t care about his wife （￣へ￣）wow remind me of Prince Phillip history

Well, and didn't Lucius regret all of that in the coming years? About how he treat her at the begging? Didn't he after hours of fighting and admire her strenght give her a title to be his knight event though a lot of people though he was mad? Didn't Paulina earn his respect in the in coming years even when he didn't know he was in love with her? He develops respect for women thanks to Paulina and in the end of the novel he starts to change law to make equality for both sex.

How can you blame a single person for having sex with other people? He wasn't aware of his feelings neither need to respond to Paulina for that and we know he was gentleman, he record them in case they have a child and take responsibility. He take three wives for political reason because of the responsibility of fullfilling his dream to be an empereor and sacrifice her own love. Only one dies at chidlbirth (not fault of Lucius and he was shattered) the other two are alive and have her own way in life; they choose it divorce him, not Lucius. The betrayl was made by the wive to his own family because they were thinking in dethrone Lucius, she believe Lucius was a great emperor and decide to act an reveal all. (=・ω・=)

Euww really so if man became emperor it’s his responsibility to have many women and even can pregnant his subordinate when they drunk.. because to emperor the man just have to beg for few years maybe month and all people gonna accept that logic and forgive him because he is an emperor... Lucius can be eunuch you know there no woman suffering because of him and no pregnant subordinate around him anymore.. this story from strong Female lead to submissive subordinate that got preggy by emperor that have 3 wife already..yuck that leave awful taste at my tastebud... you also accept logic if man order other man to rape and kill woman as a responsibility when there a war at that time pfthhh thats why korea have comfort woman issues to Japan .. who cares it’s emperor and war responsibility not ours right ╮(￣▽￣)╭

First, It is his responsbility to marry some women due to his position as an emperor. Is his duty to have an heir and after conquer a lot of regions, he needs to stablish them and make them part of his kingdom or his power will be weaker and can lead to a revolution: A.K.A more war and lives than already has been. You know what is the most ancient contract for unify kingdoms? Marriage. He is aware of his duty, that's why he decide to move in the center to establish his power in the central and south regions equally even though he loves Acrea. It was a mess but it was the necessary to do. Sometimes people need to make not very moral decision as leader, you should see the history of any country or just think of your own.

Secondly, the incident of the drunk was very implied that both parts want to and he was single when it happen, I don't know If you can't cope with the idea that your partner having a life before yours but yeah he had sex before. Yes, it's a shitty way to start the feelings of Paulina but the novel has a lot of moments like that, bad shit happen and you take wrongs decisions; drunk yourself until you remember nothing was not a good decision neither by Paulina or Lucius. Paulina knows how she has not self control drunk and worst in situation were she was vulnerable and Lucius could have drink less knowing his feel and the state of Paulina. Women can make bad desicions and have drunk sex even they shouldn't because the consent is not fully conscious! An you now how many woman have sex while drunk? A lot of them! And after that Lucius was taking the fault and was asking to Paulina to let him take responsibility and asking for forgiveness; Paulina didn't want to because she knew it was cause for both because she remember some parts. Lucius respect it and never ask her again about that topic even though it kill him. And you know what? He neither said his feelings in that moment because he felt he use her! Because he knew it was not the moment!

And I didn't defend rape, I defend that Lucius regret it and even change his view of woman after that. Because human beings can be selfaware and understand that they did bad things in the war or have bad opinions; an easy example is a parent who was homophobic and did or say bad things but change and work his relationship with his kid. Yeah, bad things happen in war and that's a shit for everyone, it shouldn't happen and people who did it and allow it are horrible people. No one should do it and Lucius can't deny it he order for a very dumb reason but after that he work for giving power to women and let her first child being the empress as her right for being the first born even though he was aware it could easily bite his ass due to the moment and society view of the moment. That's nearly a fucking arc of redemption; If you can't forgive him, it's
understandable because it's a ver sensitive topic, but for me all the actions he does after is called development and a prove he had change.

Yes they are flawed ppl dealing with difficult situations... not being able to stand this and dropping it is what is making millennials seem weak and spoiled. Life's tough, we (and the characters in the story) make the best of it, deal with it.

It is amazing how I felt the love they are feeling while reading it. It makes me feel like I'm fused with their emotions(lol, this sounds really really wrong but I dont know how to rephrase it..).
