And now that there is a potential rival in the detective He seems to be escalating Which you can tell by the fact that he didn't Care for the plan out That lady is murdered but that is a marked departure from his carefully crafted Murders Is wild. He didn't even think of an alibi Before rushing in. The detective Interfering is likely going to spur on the escalation but that does also mean that he will make more mistakes
