I have read many comments and understood many things I was confused about.
But I still have a question.
Why has law turned off moritat?
Jess asked the same thing, and Law answered saying it was so he could get over him. But we can later see he's still looking at Jess's picture. Another point is that in a comment I've read, they say Law is just a stray and needs Jess to don't lose himself. But than why turn off moritat when he finally achieved the love he wanted from Jess?

    gama November 27, 2018 11:19 pm

    This is why law turned off moritat:

    Law has been through the process of moritat multiple times in a never ending loop, each one with diffterent methods to his approach in gaining jess attention, control and affection. He had failed every single time and eventually lost sight of reality that by the time he finally did "succeed" he was simply immune to the situation, tired and already lost his will.

    For jess each process was only for a moment or "one life" because he does not retain any memories from any previous moritat runs (except for the ones law implanted or allowed him to), whereas to law in his own words- it feels like 20 years have passed. And thats no surprise because law himself still retains all the memories from the very first moritat "life" they had together until the current one.

    In reality moritat was only a single day. One single day. But moritat is a virtual reality that messes with time itself (or more accurately, the users perception of time) and law went through 20 years worth of multiple different lives. That'll mess anyone up.

    Hes so used to losing that when he finally did succeed after 20 years worth he didnt know what to do about it. His will and grip on reality was already lost and he lets real jess go.
    ===

    Then why does Law still go back to moritat after letting jess go?

    Its because laws entire life has been centered around serving other people (starting with his parents) then later on Jess became his entire reason for existing. Jess became his master. His entire world.

    He could not survive on his own because he has never ever lived for himself before and does not even know how to. It is already too late, his existence is reliant on jess...think of jess like his literal life support lol.

    He sits there reminiscing the past, still looking at jesses projections. It doesnt have to be the "real" jess anymore since it no longer mattered. In the end law was like someone mentally gone, stuck in a veggie state...alive but cant live. Jess IS the only way he knows how to live.
    ===

    What did Jess do and what does it mean?

    Jess realizes just how bad things are and how damaged laws state of mind has become. Jess trys to give law a wake up call telling him to not give up and letting him know that he will become his master again (though not in those exact words, but thats what he was insinuating at).

    To simplify it even more- think of law like a dog that became a stray and its master (jess) coming back to pick it up.

    ^ This takes us back to the scene where jess was against his mom trying to make law her pet (loyal servant). Back then Jess decided to "let go of the leash" on law and set law free. In Jess's own way that was his way of letting law go. But he failed to give law any explanation at all and just cut law off. That was his biggest mistake.

    In the end they did end up together however, nothing about their situation has change and still goes back to the way it always was- master and servant (or dog).

    TLDR:

    -Law turned it off because hes a tired boi he cant be bothered to continue anymore.

    -But he cant live without jess so after letting real jess go he clinged onto the jess in virtual reality instead.

    -Law doesnt realize just how mentally damaged he has become, his mentality and selfworth is in a very fragile state that relies purely on Jess.

    -Jess realizes and returns to law, telling him that he will be his master again

    Just like how it was in the beginning
