Most of that chapter was a flashback. The background is black whenever it is a flashback. Towards the end it goes back to the present when the background is white
oh so when he said seeing damon reminds him of 8 years ago and everything about damon is the same as it was with back then, so i thought that there is a time skip or something like that but thank you, i guess i'm missing some things about the storyline from the beginning

Colton is older than daemon , flashbacks are of when daemon met him in club once and slept with him colton don't know whom he slept with. Even in flashback we get daemon was young and impulsive and fun way taker. Flashbacks when u see colton here in front it means it's past and in present his hair are backward m
