Tbh I'm tryna figure age out like that one guy is in highschool and the other is in middle school but judging age based on american middle and high school would be wrong so gaes are
Middle school somewhere between:13-15
High school: 16-18

Until I get confirmed ages I'm not quite sure how to feel

Okay what the literal fuck is this some sort of culture difference like why is bullying in Japan and Korea always so bad ans cruel

It has something to do with the perfectionism, I'm assuming that in their cultural, being perfect in every aspect makes you superior. That includes grades, the way you look, your skin color, such things as that. In America, bullying is just mere name picking and maybe preying on the weak, but in Japan and Korea there's no standard line that cuts between who is and who isn't a bully, and it's just due to how perfect their societies want them to be. In some ways, I feel sorry for everyone, if they had grown up in a society that accepted those at different, and didn't prioritize the need to be smart based upon academic standing then maybe none of the things we've witnessed would have been concerned bullying.

I don't know if that helped, but that's my understanding of why the bullying is so bad based on what I've seen from the two cultures.

THIS. Asians culturally value things like trying to be "perfect" (seems someone didnt get the memo they are humans). When you try doing some foreign adoptions for kids in China (been there, done that, and its awfully sad), you'll notice A LOT of the orphanages will have kids with medical issues and while you could argue perhaps the parents were financially unable to secure a healthy life for their kids, I'm sure some of those were simply put there because the parents were ashamed and unable to accept they gave birth to a child with a lifelong handicap. Yea... it really is sad how they pressure their young to fit a certain mold of health because society values that more than the value of a life.

Believe me, bullying here, in Canada, even, IS that bad. We just don't see it.
