From what I understand, his body is acting out of fear. I’t’s sort of an averse reaction to being in such close proximity with a demon. But at the same time he’s aroused, which is is why ihe reacts so violently to his lover’s touch in particular. The whole point of them not sleeping together right now is so his body can sort of recover it’s immune system or something, but what happened with the the other demon whose horns always pop up (Yakushi I think), sort of destroyed the progressed he’d made so far. Despite how tough he acted on the spot (which is a character trait of him I love), it still scared him. It’s sort of like how your body reacts to touch regardless of how you tell your brain to feel about it or something.

i think it's like what hiyori's brother said. when a human is about to be eaten their defense mechanism releases some hormone or something that makes them feel good (kinda whack if you ask me). and since hiyori's afraid that yakushi would tell people he's a human, his body translates it into afraid-of-demons and just starts exaggerating the defense mechanism when hodaka touches him

Actually, I just answered someone else on another, so I've got somewhat more of an in-depth answer if you're interested. What I understand is this:

“Eaten” is the term used to refer to one wanting the other so bad that they make the first move; mouth to body parts. That ultimately makes a demon feel possessive and threatens a human’s survival instinct/immune system.

Humans have instincts meant to help them keep away from demons so that they’re on guard and therefore safe around them, but Hiyori’s instincts are all out of whack because of his constant proximity with his lover (whose name I cant recall for some reason). I think he started reacting so violently around his lover because he should feel fear which he didn’t around a demon; enough fear at least not to be intimate with them.

Plus... the rest of what I said at first lol.

Anyway, that’s my take on the whole thing. Hopefully it sounds less bizarre.

That “fear” that he feels is in fact that he’s horny and doesn’t know how to translate it bc he mistakes it w fear, uke is at least virgin so, besides there’s no info on demon/human relationships, only old sayings so we don’t even know it the eating is a literal thing or more like eat ass

That can work, and I thought that was it too until he got worse after the incident with Yakushi (the demon who needed his help to control his horns)
