So, after reading the latest chapter (ch42) and then re-reading the 1st chapter I strongly feel like that old person is shinpei( ML) because we all know that the Mc doesn't have long to live and that old person is sitting on the same field with fireflies talked about in ch 42 by shinpei. Furthermore they're reading a letter from the Mc ( I'm assuming that the text is the letter being read). And he said that he wanted to build her a house there so I feel like that's shinpei reading MC's letter and crying and if I am right then that's not good news for my already overworking tear ducts ╥﹏╥

Okay guys, so what if the old guy from ch 1 is the guard?? I'm really really hoping that it is and pray that the main couple get their happy ever after
