Does the plot make any sense? No. Do I understand any main character’s motivations for anything they do? No. Do I like any of the main characters? Not really, they’re all pissing me off. But the smut is good.

People they don’t like ML bc he has another husband is valid BUT it only says they were married first for the same reason as the MC, an heir. It doesn’t necessitate say that ML loved his first husband. It also didn’t say WHO ordered MC’s character’s original assassination. I’m assuming that either ML didn’t order the assassination or he did but bc MC was a nuisance not necessarily that he loved husband #1. Hoping for the former bc the latter would make him a huge jerk.

I wish they expanded more on Mahiro’s relationship with his parents and he stood up to them. It hurts even more because it’s like looking into a mirror. Your parent’s anxieties and their issues that they project on you can screw up your childhood and your whole life if you let it. It took me a long time to even start questioning who I am or who I wanna be. If you’re reading this it’s never too late to break out of the box people put you in; friends, parents, society, whoever. If you’re a parent or want to be one acknowledge your mistakes, if you’re going to ask for the grace of forgiveness for making them then you need to own up to them first. I hope there’s a volume two bc Shuu seems to have a story with family as well. Anyways that’s the end of my rant i kind of hope no one reads this lmao
I think the way the author resolved it is fairly realistic (in the extra). There's no use "standing up to" parents like that. Sometimes the best thing you can do is realize that they're flawed people and just separate yourself from their influence and surround yourself with people who value you. And then, hopefully, by being independent, you can show them how capable you actually are.

The saying is 'it's neither fish nor foul', basically its not one or the other, not something fitting any category under discussion. For example, They felt he was neither fish nor fowl—not qualified to lead the department, yet not appropriate to work as a staff member either .
I can see why some people are upset, I’m also the stubborn type that thinks the other person should reach out first especially if they were in the wrong. But the reality is even if the other person was wrong they’re usually afraid you’ll want nothing to do with them or you’re still mad or whatever. You just have to be the bigger person sometimes if you really love someone. Do you love that person more than their mistakes? Then there’s your answer.
