it depends. slow burn usually has good plots, but i have DEFINITELY read my fair share of bad slow burn. love at first sight can be written exquisitely though, so you just have to find the hidden gems.
not a genuine crush, but my bio teacher... he can get it. i think older men look hot(sometimes), but i don't have real ass crushes on them.
