i love this idea of realism in the plot, because many people discard their pride to survive, and although many might not see it happen in person, it happens every day.

I like Li Run, usually everyone loves the protagonist but I like villains more, just because the protagonist is usually predictable, so if the villain is crappy then the whole thing is crappy to me and i get uninterested, but i like how this antagonist is portrayed, usually authors try to make you hate villians as much as possible without giving them sympathy or show their backstory as to why they became evil in the first place, so i like this concept, creators should do more of it.

I don’t necessarily like Li Run more but I understand him more. Aside from me and you I haven’t seen one other person in the comments who liked and understood him. I feel everyone reading this is rushing to hate him but the accuracy and reality of the psychological torment he received because of wealth and power is responsible for his outcome. I say torment because in his recent flashbacks Li Run himself is realizing how people used and judged him, how people only loved his image and would do anything (even suffer his inhumane actions) to be a part of it. That’s why “none of them were genuine” and that he was brought up to be a selfish monster because he was never exposed to sincerity until he met Siwon and Jinha who I don’t believe Li Run hates but is confused by them. That doesn’t justify his actions but it gives a relatable and realistic look into how society and fame can cripple a person. That’s why I believe this manhwa is phenomenal, each character is REAL, they’re real characters that live in our world, Li Run the corrupted, Siwon the wallflower, Jinha the free spirited. Sure the plot is angst but how many manhwa have such real characters? Most fictionalize and fantasize the characters but Waje’s characters are so well developed with backgrounds and personalities that are so understandable and relatable that this work truly is a master piece, especially since it’s her first manhwa. I made a really long comment about this a while ago but these are my opinions in a nutshell :D
