I didn't read the novel, but based on people's comments it seems to be following it pretty accurately, but maybe slightly watered down on the abuse. I think things were slightly worse in the novel
So far yeah but their lot details that messing or changed for sake of fitting everything in, like their were 6 people who grasped him first time, and they actually related to gang rivals who enemy of jikwon gang, and their leader is the one who got juyeon to take revenge on jikwon after he injured jikwon head and put him in hospital, he needed money and got it from juyeon in exchange of helping him get revenge
