I feel like that even though you shouldn’t kiss your friend who has a PARTNER even with good intentions, it was justified. Without the friend’s actions, the MC wouldn’t have known about the ML’s weird creepy stalker toxic behavior, and rightly confronted him about it. Amazingly, the MC even.. broke up with him! Establishing BOUNDARIES! I know right guys that’s crazy boundaries?? Usually nonexistent in fictional relationships lol
If the friend did’t act, the ML would’ve stayed distrustful and wouldn’t have understood that what he was doing was wrong. If this behavior continued, in the future, he might eventually cut off all of the MC’s friends just because he felt uncomfortable and anxious.
Even though I have an entire list dedicated to possessive semes because that shit is hot, realistically and understandably, this kind of stuff needs to stay in fiction because people like the seme before growing are toxic asf（/TДT)/
Also I think we should assume that the friend apologized since he told him what had happened and after confessing his feelings, he didn’t try to push the MC to get together, so he knows that what he did was wrong.

also if one of my closest friends were never going back to their country (but it was framed like they were never going to see each other again after the friend left) for most likely the rest of their life, i’d want at least a month before seeing them go too.
Would you immediately cut off a friend you’ve known to be by your side if your lover said they might be in love with you?? I would’nt. I would try to communicate my thoughts to said friend and talk it out. If we can’t talk it out because said friend is being problematic, then I would cut off though. But friend is clearly being reasonable and understanding, completely supportive of their relationship even with his feelings.
Anyway, friend’s actions, I think are justified. Does that mean, you should commit adultery??? NOO!! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

I think the author’s own bias toward certain tropes really ruined the story. I can just imagine the mangaka in their room, like, “Isn’t it so romantic when two people mutually yearn for each other for a long time? I find that soooooo romantic
also, yudai lies to chiaki because he thinks they can’t have a family together. But adoption is legal in Japan (though the process is extremely lengthy and expensive).

my theory is that the author has some internal homophobia
