I kinda liked it tbh, like before I go into what I felt about the characters personalities and stuff, story wise it was kind of a bop.
It’s like the story in itself wasn’t the S&M play, it was the premise of the top having been in love with the bottom for SO LONG and having clung onto it for that amount of time.
Careful to not overstep and scare a person away, which is kind of what u do when u want to approach an - excuse me for the delicate use of topic - but an abuse/trauma victim.
Now clearly the bottom has his issues, but he’s not a bad person per se. He’s just extremely guarded, and yes it gets incredibly aggravating to see him push the top away for so long, but it’s becuz of his childhood trauma (which we see he still sort of has towards the end with his mom and stuff) and his current ex abuse and trauma that he is the way that he is.
The difference being he learned to accept the support and love from the top.
The S&M play sometimes seemed disjointed from the story, but at the same time it made sense? Since the bottom was so desperate to cling onto a semblance of control in his on way and then top was just trying to give him what he wanted. He ended up playing with him even if it wasn’t exactly something he was into, and idk I just found it interesting they didn’t drop it at the end.
Becuz I do see a lot of stories that start with the S&M play as a “coping” mechanism for a lot of the characters and then they drop it, so it was sort of nice? To see them stick to it cuz then it wasn’t just a form of self harm for the bottom.
Overall, I liked the story. Now PERSONALLY speaking - I did feel incredibly bad for the top at times and wished he would’ve done something during those years to like… not cling too hard, but as the pointed out in the story. 1. He’s weird too. Whether u see it in a good way or bad way is up to yall. 2. If he did it during those times where the bottom had his guard up, he would’ve continued being the way he was.
To start I did like it story-wise, so like even though the characters were super morally gross and shit I enjoyed the direction and stuff, but to go in depth - it was really hard to get through the first half. Even more through half than the story Heesuh was piece of shit.
He craved so hard to get Jinmoo to have an inferiority complex, but out of anyone he had the biggest complex against Jinmoo. What he needed was therapy, nothing else.
Show me his parents cuz they need to be backhanded for raising a brat.
The only decent thing heesuh did was feel even the slightest bit of guilt and tell him what he did, and even then everything he had done up to a point was so infuriating you’re left just reeling from the fact that he’s such a big piece of shit?
I’ve seen my fair share of red flags, it was refreshing to see the bottom being a raging red flag, but the fact he never changed was what had me thrown entirely off.
He was consistent with his personality and I mean this as real as it gets. He changed only slightly for Jinwoo since it’s clear he was as obsessed with him as Jinmoo was with Heesuh.
And as for Jinmoo, well… idk what to think about him cuz I think the entire time I just felt really ducking bad for him.
It wasn’t bad, I think it was pretty ok actually. Allen was a dick at first but he’s like every guy and then Ren was just an idiot in like, but I’m glad they got a happy ending. The side stories were a lil embarrassing lol.
Eric despite being a lil odd sometimes in some scenes was actually pretty nice, yeah there was like some perversion but he has a crush and like never pushed any boundaries which I wish we would’ve gotten a side story for him instead.
Ughhh ok I like the premise, I like the story, and I liked the characters. TBH enough to forgive a lot of the things I usually don’t like personally however, I do have my gripes with this story cuz what Haram did was v trashy and quite disrespectful to Hwi tbh.
Before i even go into it, I do wanna say i like them tho. I like their relationship and how they come out. They’re cute but…
Each to their own when it comes to relationships I say, every person sets their own boundaries and without going into spoilers - these two never set any even when they started sleeping with each other.
However, it’s kinda foul to like… so what he did with that event the next day with Hwi.
And then somehow, someway I ended up even feeling bad for Mr. Han? Cuz like yeah he was a slut but at the end of the day he ended up leaving his situationships and earnestly pursing haram. Yeah he realized haram liked him but did he owe him to make a move when haram himself was hesitant? I think the where Mr. Han went wrong was the dickish coldness he had at the beginning, but when he opened up a little and was honest about his intentions with Haram, haram was a FUCKING PRICK in this situation.
NOW SPOILERS*
Cuz who sleeps with someone who has a crush on u? Or is being genuine in their feelings to you in that instance?AND ur going on a date the next day with an ENTIRELY different person?
Oh goood lord, haram I know you were a virgin but that doesn’t make u a certified buffoon to lack common decency.
Cmon haram I liked you, but u really fumbled there and hard. Be so glad Hwi didn’t hold that over u cuz I would’ve (wouldn’t have even dated him) - but now that I think about it did he even ever tell him?
omfg....what???? im re-reading this manhwa (i read it a long time ago, and didn't quite remember the whole thing, so thought to give it a go again).. and im at the chapter where he just slept with mr. han....and u r saying he didn't telll hwi he slept with han the previous night...and on top of that he went on a date with hwi just the next day...im cryingggg... im so frustrated.....i feel so bad for hwi rn...
Literally the entire plot of the story is just “hey yall should talk to each other.” I feel like towards the end of it they lost some steam to the story which is kinda sad cuz it was really cute. I wanted to see what was up with some plot points they had, but ig it just didn’t flesh out. But overall it wasn’t that bad. It was ok, decent read overall.
I mean it kinda is kinda isn’t. It’s so cute. I love it. I would also go for someone like Kang if I was given the chance, falling in a second.
I also like how he turned equally into a simp too, the genuine adoration between the two of them is cute.
I love mature romances.
the pacing was great, the narrative was well done, it wasn’t boring despite the setting (though personally I always like office romances), the age gap wasn’t uncomfortable (he’s an adult yall be so for real if you’re in ur 20s you’d date someone in their 30s if you wanna), their conversations were great - I liked that despite him falling hard and fast he had the consciousness to back up sometimes and think even if he was a bit to jump the gun. They can communicate it tho which was nice.
Idk they’re just adorable.
I mean I liked how the story was progressing, but I really really wish they would’ve expanded more on his reason for being as jumpy as he was on relationships and his personality. It’s kind of to a detriment to the story - I’ll expand a bit more in the bottom with spoilers - but like without it, he just seems really closed off even as a reader. Aside from that, the story was very ok. I can’t give it like an amazing review but it was a decent read.
The ML goes from 0 to a 100 with no real reason?
Like I LIKE U SO IF U LEAVE ME ILL KMS? (But In smaller more condensed version than other BL tropes)
Hm ok, but why?
You didn’t really seem to like him that much even a bit ago.
*spoilers*
And even with his small trauma explanation it doesn’t seem like it’s expanded on. Like, tbh as the reader u can do more digging urself and maybe have ur own theorizing as to why he was the way he was. The terrorizing from his nanny, the semi neglectful reactions from his parents (even tho it seems like the teetered at times), his incapability to handle his own emotions, but at the end these are all just theories cuz she was just a passing thing?
Nothing else is brought upon this and it’s like well… I guess his trauma made him not wanna be steady with anyone ig.
And an entire personal gripe - I did not like the other ML’s chasing, like yeah he seemed to show some extent that he like you, but at some point pick urself off the ground ur not setting a good example to others rn :/ I mean good fr u that he did come back.

The story is good. I love office romances, they’re my favorite. The premise is interesting too, kinda like those story writing prompts so it’s nice to see it written out.
They’re also so cute, both couples are. However, by every facet there is, they manage to be super frustrating.
I know there’s no other “stakes” to keep the story going, but the slight misconceptions and non movements done by the main couple or like the side couple is like???? Cmon… talk. Communicate. He clearly. CLEARLY likes you?
That is of course just a personal complaint, that was only a slight road bump to my enjoyment of the story.
