I can't really say it's out of nowhere. Most, if not all, of the time he's only 'hostile' to people that deserved it or those with bad intentions. Or if he have something to protect (mostly coz he doesn't want the uke to be involved with shady people)

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who skipped the entire story just to read the historical part, I love it when the abuser doesn't end up with the victim in the most painful way, this was the perfect ending for me, whatevers happening next now is just none of my business.
