Honestly you're so right. People are so easy to forgive, they forgot that Hee Ryang was an absolute monster when Yeonjo was young. Just because he's hot and had a sad past does not excuse his behaviour. His redemption is not complete yet
Truee and he has repeat himself in this chapter that he’s not gonna change anything even if he goes back in past. Thats just how he is. Even if they turn back the time he will still kill mc’s family in cold blood. The thing is even if he was just following orders, if you side with evil, youre a villain too. No excuses here.

Well, the author says in the end that they will " continue living their bittersweet lives together", so I am taking that as neither one kills the other. Also earlier, the author showed texts between them and the editor or publisher.. The author repeatedly says it's a happy ending.
