i don’t think he’s lying. ml really does love mc and that’s why he’s so fixed on trying to control him. he always knew mc’s end goal was to die after his friends and he was ok with it in the beginning, but along the way he fell in love with mc and that was very clear >>to me<< bc he even changed his own plans to save mc’s life, he became more and more protective and lied to himself saying he just wanted to control mc he’s just another unreliable narrator emotionally constipated ml. mc is the one who has him in the palm of his hand and every enemy of his realized that >on the spot<
the plot felt sooo “sweet second (and often best) ml actually gets chosen” which i love !! the ending was a bit rushed but overall i really like it ♡ it’s so cute and just the right amount of cliche
the dynamics of the cp were actually cute but i felt the world building was unnecessary..? it’s just there making us uncomfortable about the whole situation and it was irrelevant they didn’t need the weird set up audition and kidnapping like the debt plot is right there ? the vampire could’ve just offered the contract from the beginning and it would be fine and reasonable for the uke to accept. the combo of human trafficking + apartheid(?) + the research thing was an… interesting choice. anyway it’s weird
the chemistry between mai and renako is just the worst among all of them that’s crazyyy they both suit other characters more than with each other idk how the author managed to do that. i wish renako just stopped being stupid and realized she’s in love with ajisai like she’s literally saying doing x stuff with her feels different than with satsuki and mai she just said “you don’t get turned on by your friends” and than gets turned on by ajisai BUT SHE STILL CANT CONNECT THE DOTS it’s fucking annoying ik the current situation in the novel and i guess it’ll be a harem idk but mai and renako just feels sooooo tasteless like i feel nothing bro . this manga would be better if it developed mai x satsuki and renako x ajisai after renako rejected mai the first time… or just stuck with mai x renako from the beginning then i’d have nothing to compare them with
bada is more like the tutorial npc who explains what to do and doha seems like the player bc why else he’s able to harm the killer when bada cannot? i’m pretty sure horror games do have the option of trying to kill the killer. or maybe is a game condition where the 2nd player has the ability to kill? or nam doha npc since the beginning was able to kill bc his character has a hidden storyline where he’s also a killer.. and only a “killer” can kill others in the game? also there’s still no explanation for him randomly killing that villager hhhh i’m so curious

brian is so nice actually i like him a lot and the relationship with sol is interesting too! i think many ppl r taking for granted brian and ian r different ppl and forgetting we still don’t know what route the author will take abt the reincarnation thing, we don’t even know if it’s smth he can avoid or if it’s bound to happen like calm tf down personally i’d like if brian and ian are the same because so much of ian’s life and his suffering revolve around his first life, it’s like he just came to be ian because of his past as brian… and it’d be just sad if the whole “sol waited 1000 years to meet brian again” star-crossed lovers set up was wasted… also while i understand ian’s feelings as “only ian” if he doesn’t get his memories back it’ll be just so uncomfortable to me (and for him honestly) to see any romance happening bc he will always have brian’s shadow behind him and that’s just unavoidable no matter how much we want that to not be the case
