He was sly and tried to prevent death. Sisyphus' story is a metaphor for the constant search for meaning and purpose in a world that can often seem indifferent or absurd, so theres still a chance he might not even be that bad
I’m not saying he was a bad guy but he was sly and selfish. Plus he would lure travellers into his kingdom and then kill them for profit which is what makes me so nervous for this story. Also he only tried to stop death to save his own life he wasn’t thinking about anyone else. His main ‘sin’ tho was hubris and that’s why he was punished. His punishment is a symbol for the absurdness and pointless of life but in my opinion his story was saying you can’t cheat the laws of nature and if u try u get punished.
