They then knock the uke out and say they’re gonna bring him home with them. Also, the brothers aren’t actual brothers, they have no biological connection.

I like that about him too. Theres only a handful of stories where the author can pull off the Stockholm syndrome with a romantic story. Unfortunately, most has trash writing so that factor is forced in just to bring closure.
