I think its just you. And a matter of preference. I draw characters with them being either right handed, or left handed. It depends if the angle is better.

My brother's friend had a hamster. I really liked wearing shirts with buttons when I was cuddling it. It would start to bite on the buttons when it wanted to tell us that it needed a bathroom break - tough luck if we didn't have any buttons :D
