um like that must hurt to be told "I can't love you because you're a dude and not a girl." He must think he's doing her such a big favor because he's got it stuck in that small Brain of his that he's totally worth it. Even if Hibiki chooses that boss dude its not like they'll actually be happy because hibiki can't be himself and eventually it'll show.
It's not really wrong if you don't want to be with another guy. I get that if he doesn't want to be with another guy because it's gay, that's close minded. But if he's not attracted to guys that puts a real strain on the relationship, of course it affects his feelings. It's understandable that he feels he can't love him(in the romantic sense) it shouldn't make you think less of him.
I wonder if the emperor likes her or not cause I didn't see any inkling of that. More like he wanted to protect her but like...how is she supposed to get promoted(in her career) if she is now a concubine albeit the empress. The train of thought behind making her a concubine has passed me by. Can someone explain this to me.
You are very right on this based on the fact that the setting this manga is in. In fact, it is a realistic portrayal of ancient monarchy setting, which we all know that the emperor wouldn't have just 1 wife. The other shoujo manga whereby the emperor has only 1 wife just wouldn't happen in real history...
<spoiler> Yes, he slept with the other concubines in order to have heirs. He doesn't have feelings for them. He only has feelings for Kan. </spoiler>
Just realise the spoiler tag doesn't work here... will be more careful next time... Sorry!

Story: 4/10 its original with the orphan village but it doesn't seem like the author has capitalized on the things that make the story interesting. Such as the blessings, how do they work, how are those who have the blessing aquire them, who can aquire them, personally i just like knowing all that nonesense. I wish the author had taken a more serious tone with the abandoned children and how being abandoned has changed how they act. Speaking of the children, there hasnt been any character development at all, since day one nothing has changed, most of the main cast have always been their generic self, oh this one is strong and that one is motherly. The romance honestly doesn't even make sense sometimes and pairings are just made because "there's a guy and a girl who like the same thing". I would love it if the author explores these romantic relationships more, giving each pairing and character a chance to shine and really show why these two are meant for eachother. Having Alus(i think thats it lol) have two wives, personlly not a fan of harem tropes but if its only those two then its fine, i think the reason behind it(power from marriage) makes sense and they seem to respect eachother but I would argue is kinda unrealistic. I like seeing characters in distress over their decisions so I really wanted to see them clash and fight and eventually coming to an agreement. Instead they just resolve it right away because his main wife is just that open hearted and loves her husband that much that she's fine with him marrying someone else even though they've only been married for what 2 years max? Maybe thats just how their society is but also they haven't shown us much of that either. We can only make inferences about their society and their traditions at this point but it would be nice if instead of focusing on the growing physical kingdom and political power they'd also show how the culture and society are as they stand and how they change under Alus's rule.
Forgive me if I didn't get his name right, im too lazy to check lol. ( ̄へ ̄)
