Can someone explain what's the big deal of this story was it manga or anime before getting a manhwa
The donghua (because it is a Chinese animation and not a Japanese one so it is not called an anime) was released first. It already has two seasons and is farther ahead in plot. It is called by the same name.

IMO, it’s good. at least, there’s no plot holes (so far) and there’s actual plot. we actually get to see why and how she got in the game and the antagonist aren’t brain dead

I don't think it's clear, I suck with summary sorry. But it's one of the best danmei I've read so u should give it a try. Idk if the manhwa will be good but the novel definitely is
it's a novel with complex political struggles, so it's hard to boil down. shen zechuan is the son of a man who was labelled a traitor, and he plans on finding out the truth behind what really happened in order to redeem his father's name and by extension his own. xiao chiye is the love interest, who fights on both physical and political battlefields for the sake of his family who are basically the lords of libei, far away from the capital. it's a happy ending but it takes a lot of pain and scheming to get there
