This was such a fucking bittersweet history that just hits down so deep, read it in 2 days and when it ended it I just broke down. I feel so sorry for everyone in this story, such harsh reality it is to live through war and discrimination. Seung Tae just couldn't let himself be who he is in fear of judgment and chose to live the life that was expected of him. In his last moments he lets his thoughts of hatred and deep regret fill him but deep down I know he could spend his last days with his children who forgave him for his actions and truly loved him as their father.
My sweet Hwang Yeon, I know a martyr when I see one, kind and selfless soul. Just couldn't forget his one and only love but at the end could hear the words he so desperately needed. I wished so badly for them to be together for the last stretch of their life so looking back at their past didn't hurt so bad but fate had another opinion. I was so happy to see he was such a loved person and that many people celebrated his life in his funeral, truly an angel.
And lastly for Jihoo, I just wish for him peace of mind, heart and soul. To know that him being a likable and nice person doesn't mean for disaster to follow him, the tragic events that happened weren’t his fault and that deserves the absolute best everywhere he goes. I hope in the future he can come back to meet again with Seung Tae and Hwang Yeon, if at least not the town he can call home but for the people and friends he can call home in their presence.
